This house was built in 1953 1954 and is a true Mid-century Modern home.

The current owner purchased the property in 2017 and has completely remodeled the house; trying to retain its character befitting a lakefront home.
During the renovation, the kitchen and eating areas were reversed and a closet was removed to make for a larger kitchen and the eating area now has a lake view. As the kitchen is now facing south, a 6 ft wide bay window was added over the sink to allow for more light and is an excellent setting for many indoor plants. All appliances were purchased new during the renovation.
There are hardwood floors throughout the main living area. The kitchen renovation required a new floor. Vinyl was chosen and then the remaining hardwood (except for the front bedroom) was stained to match.
Another part of the renovation was the complete plumbing replacement to all pvc. The electric panel was replaced and a sub panel was added to accommodate the wiring needed for the heat and a/c system.
The owner retained the oil fired hot water baseboard heating and added the mini split system for air conditioning. The added benefit is that the mini split system can also be used for heating the home. Using the mini split system, this is a very economical home to heat or cool.
When the exterior was re-sided, insulation was blown into all exterior walls and the home was wrapped with Tyvek prior to siding. The front side of the foundation was covered with brick veneer to blend in better. This home also has a brand new roof, gutters with gutter guards, and downspouts.
As the old a/c vents were removed, the owner decided to install stereo speakers in the ceiling and now there is a Bluetooth system through the home. Each bedroom has its own separate Bluetooth system.
Both bathrooms were taken back to the studs and floor joist before remodeling. The master bathroom has a heated floor and a handicap accessible shower with seat. The new owner will notice a mural painted from a photo of a sunset taken at the property.
The laundry area features an additional sink and room for another refrigerator or freezer.
The garage has an insulated Clopay door, a double door on the back side to bring the mower in and out, and a built-in work bench.The basement walls and floor have been repainted. Shelves for storage were also added.
The original rear patio was retained and now is accessible from both the living room and the eating area.
The exterior of the property was also renovated. A new driveway was installed after the garage was finished. On the lakeside, a new bulkhead was installed along with steps leading from the back yard to the new deck at the lake. You will find that the sunsets are beautiful from this vantage point. Last year, an additional brick and stone patio was added from which you can view the lake in the shade.
The water well was updated to a four inch well with a submersible pump some time in the 80s. The septic system was installed in 2013 or 2014 and is built to the most current regulations.
In short, except for a few windows, this is a brand new 1950s home.
